Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug Chalke. Sarah is the middle of two siblings: the older one, Natasha Chalke, one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah made her acting debut on TV in a made-for-TV movie, City Boy (1992). After her first film she auditioned in 1993 for the role of "Becky" from Roseanne (1988). The show was in search of an alternative to Alicia Goranson, who left the show to attend studies at college. Sarah graduated from high school in 1995, while filming the 1994-95 Roseanne (1988) season. In 1994, Sarah co-starred in the film Ernest Goes to School (1994) as did Jim Varney. She starred in Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear(1996). In both films, she played the role of Krista Wilson who was who was a cheerleader. Sarah was asked to play in the 1998 show Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy. It was a year following Roseanne (1988). It was based off the TV film of the same name which was called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998), which Sarah was also in. In 1993 she took over Becky's role in Roseanne (1988). She said that she would like to retire from acting and attend college. [2001] (1993-1997) Was the older sister of Sara Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) However, she's younger in real life. Attended the 1999 CCMA award ceremony, and presented an award for the top single of 1999. September 1999: Appeared in local Vancouver theater productions, aged 8 years old. The actress is fluent in French, German and Spanish. She works at a hospice that cares for seriously ill children. In her spare time, Chalke prefers cooking with acquaintances (especially Thai and sushi), playing the guitar as well as hiking, skiing (she's an instructor), snowboarding, kayaking and reading. Her father is a lawyer, as are her parents mediators. They also operate an agency for the adoption of children. She went with her parents to China two years ago to help coordinate the adoptions of many orphans.
