Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and former instructor in the Institute of Culinary Education. The host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef and her signature hairstyle and her spiky, blond locks as well as her pumped up personality, reveals easy techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell was also employed by many of the best restaurants within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy, and battled on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by cooking and eating at an early age. She furthered her interest in the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after earning a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I loved being a Culinary Institute Of America student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." I could not learn or learn enough. Chef Burrell who graduated from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy spent one year working in Umbria in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impact on her food and culinary experience. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aims to enrich the lives of kids facing problems. She is also an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes education about young-onset diabetes. In her role as an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to speak about her passion for food and her culinary career.
