Rosamund Pike

Born in London in 1979, Rosamund Elizabeth Pike is an actor. She is the sole child of a classically trained violinist mom Caroline (Friend) as well as an opera singer father Julian Pike. Because of their job, she spent much of in her early years traveling throughout Europe. Pike went to Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in a National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by an agent after she was discovered. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. While her debut film was a huge-budget action film, her film performances were mostly in smaller independent films , such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for the film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first feature film. A brief foray into Hollywood film followed with the action flick, Doom (2005) as well as the thriller, Fracture (2007) However, she returned to smaller films featuring outstanding performances in three films: An Education (2009) and Made in Dagenham (2010), and the lead role alongside Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her stage work in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011) and played the character in the role of "Andromeda" in the sci-fi epic, Wrath of the Titans (2012). In the film, she starred with Tom Cruise as her female leading character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action movies.
